Essential Oils: Uses and Benefits

Updated: Aug 31, 2020

I have gotten many questions such as, What are essential oils? How do I use them? Does it matter which brand I use? So I thought I would take a minute to answer some of these questions. I am also going to start adding some of my favorite blends to help with different ailments.

So what are essential oils? They are the oils which are extracted from plants to capture the plants scent and beneficial properties. You can use these oils in aromatherapy, in your bath, balms, diffusing and holistic healthcare, among many other uses. If you are going to put the oils directly on your skin, make sure you use a carrier oil such as fractionated coconut oil, as not to irritate your skin.

Do you have to buy the expensive lines of essential oils for them to be effective? In short answer, no! You do not have to buy from muti-level marketing (MLM) companies and pay an arm and a leg to get a quality oil. A very important thing to know is that there is a difference between an essential oil and a fragrance oil. Essential oils are distilled from plants and are natural, while fragrance oils are synthetic.

I personally use Revive essential oils in my home and business. I like Revive because they are as good as Doterra without being a MLM company. That means less cost to you the consumer. Revive provides their GC/MS testing to the public so the purity of their oils can be verified. The GC/MS testing shows the chemical makeup of the oil, the origin and the quality. I also get the quarterly box. It costs me $55.00 for about $100 worth of oils and they send unique blends and some oils that I might not try otherwise. I believe Revive oils are quality oils without the high price tag.

Coming up, I will add some of my favorite blends. Check back!
